Tsuken at the conference

Once again I was out early for a run, before attending the last morning of the conference. I have posted an extra which was taken on that run, just after I started. I did not run by the edge of the harbour, this morning; instead going up the hill away from Darling Harbour, and run through Hyde Park before returning to the hotel.

The main photo is of Tsuken talking with the author of a poster paper. This paper was arguing that true bipolar disorder is rare in prepubertal children, something that US psychiatrists challenge. One of the presentations this morning was about the use of lithium in "adolescents". There were only four papers found in a systematic review, and the majority of the subjects were prepubertal children. There was almost 100% comorbidity with ADHD, and lithium was no better than placebo; in other words ineffective.

I left the conference early in order to have an unrushed journey to the airport. We are now back home, and pleased to be here although sad that we will not see Tsuken and his family again for some months or longer.
