Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Peter Tosh - Steppin' Razor (1977)
Surprising to be in the hundreds of LOTDs before posting any reggae. Joe Higgs wrote Steppin' Razor in 1967 for the Festival Song Contest, but was not credited by Tosh on this version from his solo album, Equal Rights. Higgs later won a court case to establish his rights as the copyright holder of the piece, but never received any profits from the song's success. It had been credited to him when Tosh had first cut it on a single, produced by Joe Higgs, as one of the Wailers, for Wail 'n Soul'm in Jamaica circa 1967.
