Spring robin

We planned our daylight hours around the weather. Since the forecast was better in the morning, Mr hazel, Gunilla and I set off early for a walk to the Botanic Garden and home the long way through Stockbridge with a stop off at Bon Papillon. Along the route we picked up fish and cheese for an afternoon of dinner party prep.

At 7pm our first guests - Jon and Luisa - arrived. They were soon joined by Katharine and Jack, Louise and Glenn, Mette, and Bruce. On tonight's menu were Christmas cocktail sausages and falafel as hors d'oeuvres, chicken liver pâté or hummus for the first course, fish stew or nut roast with roasted vegetables and home made chips as the main course, and chocolate mousses and/or lemon posset for pudding. At the end of the meal we also enjoyed the cheese bought at Mellis this morning.

After the meal we had another three and half hours of fun until the wee small hours. First we played games in the sitting room (Empire and Werewolf), then danced (and 'sang') in the kitchen disco. We finally retired to bed at about 3:00am. What an amazing party!

I blipped the robin in the Botanic Garden this morning.

Exercise today: walking and dancing (17,294 steps).
