Patience

Many years ago when I first grew Fritillaria affinis, I achieved an impressive display of flowers, about four years after the seed was sown.  An extra pic - from 2001 - shows that special event.   The intervening years of raising a family have tested my ability to keep special plants alive, I lost the 2001 plants a couple of years later :-(     More recently I acquired some small bulblets of a form of Frit affinis from a friend.  Today, after a gap of nearly two decades, I spotted the first flower.  A happy moment.

Highlight of the day, a sunset outing to Cromer.  One of us needed a whippy ice-cream (both of us had one) and we shared chips for tea.   A much needed oasis of silliness.
