Wigan Away Day

Today as mentioned we made the journey over to Salford to watch Wigan play them in the Super League. It is the 1st time we have visited this ground which is a fairly new flat pack designed ground. They share the ground with sale sharks rugby union team its a modern ground with not much capacity on  12 000 .
Despite nice weather when we left Lincoln it was very cold and windy . After a very poor start to the game going behind to an early try Wigan battled back and went into a lead but then conceived 2 silly try's just before half time . We went into the half time break leading 18 - 16. Again the 2nd half started and we let in a very soft try to make it 22 - 18 to salford. Thankfully we battled hard and a couple of good breaks from George Williams meant we took the lead again and the hung on to win  30 - 22. So after a poor start to the season hopefully this will mark a change in fortune for us. Fingers crossed we can carry this on next week as we are going to watch them again at home to Catalan Dragon who have a few of our ex players playing for them .I have gone with this shot showing the main stand as the players came out at the start of the match , more shots can be seen on my Blog here .
