Quod oculus meus videt

Swallet Falls, Near Eyam

Was very happy to be out in the Peak District today with my good friend, Ross.  He's been through the mill recently with a recurrence of a bad back and is likely to need further surgery to sort things out.  Thankfully he was still keen to explore the area around the plague village of Eyam.  We didn't push it too much, just under 9 miles in total.

When we're finished I'd read about a small waterfall in the area, so we drove along to try and find it.  Despite it only being a few yards of a road, no one would know to look.  It is in a deep depression in the land, surrounded by trees and not visible unless you walked down in to the chasm.  We only spent a few minutes there, we were both tired from our exertions, but it is somewhere I'll definitely revisit at some time.

The extra is from the walk and shows Ross on a rocky outcrop overlooking Abney Moor in the distance.
