Hanging On

The wind today was something else. Difficult keeping the clothes on the line, some of them gone here already. Decided to swap over to our summer quilt, been too hot at night for a while now. We'll see if that was wise...

A day of deciding alternative plans for the family visit now that Mike is out of action, pretty much. And of using my muscles instead of his, acquiring some knocks and bruises in the process. Difficult for both of us, but GOOD. And of asking for help from neighbour Zé Carteiro, who willingly gave it.

Long visit this afternoon from Delfina and Andrelino, special. She brought us a jar of her quince and walnut jam, and he brought us three white fig trees to plant (am I up to digging holes??).

Gratefuls:
- our son Face Timing, to check how we were coping, love that our kids are starting to look after us
- managing to empty the composting toilet; it was my main worry, it's heavy. We will now empty it every other day!
- D and A making the effort to come out to see us, folk think we live so far away. Takes less than 10 minutes to walk from town.
