On Their Toes

Ruby had an important ballet exam at Northern Ballet this morning.
We were all extra nervous because she has a painful in growing big toe nail.
She is due to have an operation to remove it but has to get this exam and another important final audition for the English National Youth Ballet in two weeks, so it will be done after that as it means she can’t dance on point for weeks after.
The doctor put her on antibiotics and today she lashed pain killing gel around the toe.
Thankfully she got through the exam .
She said when it hurt, she smiled even more :-)
As it lasted for nearly two hours it was a big relief when it was over.
Will be about six weeks before we know if she has passed her RAD Intermediate.
Afterwards l asked her if it meant she has a night off but no, she starts the advanced syllabus tonight , so another two hours dancing but not on point :-)
This afternoon l went to see Kitty dancing at the ‘Mother’s Day Tea ‘ at her school.
She does ballet there on top of her out of school dancing and with the same teacher so they put on some good performances.
I’ve included both granddaughters in my extras, can’t take credit for the one of Ruby as her dance teacher took it but l wanted it in my journal.
Mr P and l are currently on the train into Leeds for a pre theatre dinner then off to see a one off at the cinema of Diana Ross Her Life, Love and Legacy.
It includes the full concert she performed in Central Park NYC in 1983 when the audience was a million plus.
