If you can't beat them...

The temperature was 4º C above the magic 8ºC so I had some stain/wood preservative to put on at Amber Nook.  A little forethought would have meant I made faster progress.  Fear of dripping on the plastic decking made my work slow.

Wandering round the garden looking for a blip I decided on these emerging leaves on our "Black Lace".  Black Lace is a dark leaved, "cut leaf" version of the common elder.  The dark colour is so pervasive that the flowers a pink rather than the usual white.   How dissected the leaves are going to be can just be seen in these young leaves.
