I am a great fan of finding markets on travels and 'wet markets' in particular though they can be scary and confronting.
A wet market I assumed was because it sold 'wet' products like meat and fish but apparently it is because the floor is always being hosed down!...hence wet and applies to all aspects of the produce market.

Tekka Market in Little India is a place for the sights and senses while Mustafa Department store covering three blocks! and open 24 hours has a wonderful sari department.
