Ticking the boxes

Karen is "on holiday" - again.

So I got a day off from farming.  It was a blessing, since Mom needed to be driven around and she was struggling to find, a chauffeur.

The first box we ticked.

A trip to the mall, to take care of business (banking). Then we headed to the Medicross, to take care of the body.

Multiple bits were "broken".

The first, to be taken care of, was the eyes.

Mom, is desperate for "new" glasses, having lost the current pair, in the hijacking, which for the record, happened 9 weeks ago.

The appointment was for 12.

Armed with the ID, new medical aid card and squeaky clean, artificial lenses, it took about 20 minutes, to get the eyes measured up, for the new specs.

The second body part, needing fixing........ the broken tooth.

This TOO was a victim of the hijacking.

It didn't actually break on the day.  On the day, the jaw and eye, took a bruising.  It broke about 3 weeks ago.  I suspect the bang, as she hit the pavement, caused a crack in the "foundation".

The dentist appointment was scheduled for 2.30 pm.

I sat in the car, reading........

It was all done and dusted, by 3.45 pm.  The dentist put a bit in, so the gaping hole in Mom's mouth, was closed.

She was happy.

I was happy, that she was happy.

I had a bite to eat and then headed home. We are slowly, the operative word being, SLOWLY, reclaiming our lives.

The outstanding issues, the car paperwork, the drivers license and a replacement car.   I really don't think the car is going to happen.  She knows it and I know it.
