Nose Work

A hectic day at work and then a dog walk.

After our walk, each of the boys had a Nose Work training session.

Nose Work is a dog sport created to mimic professional detection dog tasks. The dogs must find a hidden target odor and alert the handler. In Denmark Lavender is the first odor, that you teach the dog to find.

It was Hero's first training since his operation last week. Nose Work is a great sport, when the dog needs to take it easy for a while as it doesn't have to be physically demanding. It can be just brain work, if you place the odor so that the dog doesn't have to climb or jump to get to it.

I finished with a special and a little harder search for Gollum as he is the most experienced of the collies.

See you tomorrow
