Valley

Had a very strenuous walk to Countisbury. Uphill all the way and if was good to find the pub in the hamlet open and welcoming. It has been so warm that we were able to sit outside and admire the view.

The walk back through the valley was much easier and there were lots of interesting trees lining the footpath (extra). We arrived back in Lynmouth and had coffee with an enormous piece of lemon cake at a tea shop next to the river East Lyn. Unfortunately the huge cake was very stodgy and the coffee was unpalatable. The location was great though. My stomach suffered later. We managed to climb the zigzag path to lynton without collapsing with fatigue.

Sorry if I haven't been looking at the blips but I am very tired after our day's walking and tend to fall asleep after our evening meal.
