An Old Casal*

Mike's choice of photo. An old Portuguese motorbike against the castle wall in Serpa. My choice is the extra, a Cercis siliquastrum, or Judas Tree, which were everywhere today. I collected some of the seeds, would love some of them here on the Land.

With Mike unable to do heavy work, we're tackling neglected bureaucratic jobs. Went to Beja, in the lower Alentejo to officially register ourselves as the new owners of the Land in the Geographic Institute. They are working about 42 months behind, apparently, but it will get done someday...

Stopped at Serpa on the way back, for a wander. The first place we ever stayed in the Alentejo, so it's quite nostalgic for us.

Gratefuls:
- buying two tiles by the artist who did the two in our Sutton Coldfield bathroom; really wanted some for our house here, but not sure he's still working, only half a dozen left in the shop, so glad we went there today
- the roadsides ablaze with poppies and rock roses, white and pink, such abundance of beauty, not to mention the Judas trees
- crossing this job off the list, and the lovely woman who dealt with us

* Casal means couple - that's us, an old couple!
