Always Be Generous

So today we did some trigonometry in our homeschool... working out the height of the three trees we did bark rubbings of on Wednesday - the horse chestnut at the bottom of their garden was the tallest, at 30 metres; photo taken from our attic window. They also measured out the size of Noah's ark, it was huge! And thought of folk we know who are locked inside like he and his family were.

We are now all very grateful that it's the weekend!

I picked a verse just before the Lent verse for the day; has the same theme, but easier to understand, Deuteronomy 15v10-11, describing how God's people should live:

Give freely and spontaneously. Don't have a stingy heart. The way you handle matters like this triggers GOD, your God's blessing in everything you do, all your work and ventures. There are always going to be poor and needy people among you. So I command you: Always be generous, open purse and hands, give to your neighbour in trouble, your poor and hurting neighbours.

If we close in on ourselves, hoarding supplies and money we don't need, we'll die inside; if we live generously, we'll really live. So happy to hear that NHS staff in my daughter's hospital were given bread and flowers today, encouraging after some horrid stuff earlier.

Gratefuls:
- the sky, as in photo, an absolutely smooth blue, not a contrail in sight, we just stood and stared, so beautiful, so right. It feels as though Nature is having a break
- lunch in the garden eating Paul's delicious sourdough, it was cold, but sunny - getting all the Vit D we can get while we can
- having a Park to take the kids out in, didn't take my exercise walk today apart from that, but aware that is more than many
