'DEAD AS A DOOR-NAIL'

Today, went out to our local Landfill again today looking for a piece of heavy steel to reinforce our verandah with and we saw Sammy there, one of the volunteers, and I asked him if he had something different I could photograph today.

He told me about the Grasshopper he'd found in a cardboard box - 'It'll be something different indeed" Sammy said with a cheeky grin.
And so Sammy carefully picked a deceased Grasshopper out of the box and placed him on a (2000's era) comfy clean-looking lounge chair. ' I'd told him I'd seen bugs and bugs, and very real bugs, for a while. 'Well, the's sure different, and pretty well preserved too.'

We don't often see a Grasshopper in such a preserved deceased pose, apart from squashed that is, and possibly left over from the last plague we had over a year ago..
And so, here we have Dead As A Door-Nail Grasshopper..

I was about to focus on Grasshopper and the wind blew and over he turned - 'that'd be most different' we both said as we don't see the underside of a well preserved Grasshopper either! Well, it's rather different isn't it. And so Grasshopper lives on. Sammy said he was going to spray something on him to make him shine and keep him all together as he was falling to bits, and put him in a jar. Well, we guessed he was a him..

Yes, we found the piece of steel, but declined his offer of sharing a Late in the new Cafe at the Landfill. If you are interested in looking at the blip I took on the little new Cafe at the Landfill - you can see it on 21st November. The turnover at the Landfilll apparently is the envy of a lot of the shopkeepers in our town!
