Okonomiyaki

As well as the cherry and plum blossom, there is a fine variety of magnolias to be admired here. After a typical workshop day of uninteresting talks but for one good one, and a couple of long worthwhile discussions, I joined A in Tokyo at the okonomiyaki restaurant I'd visited two years ago. You sit on the floor and cook your own kind of exotic omelette [mine contained shredded cabbage, tiny dried prawns and fresh prawns] on a gas fired griddle [see extra] before dousing it in otafuku sauce and mayonnaise, and sprinkling seaweed powder on top! Then we toured the red light area of Shinjuku before taking the train home.
