bird watch

Today saw some bird action. The peregrine seen here flying past the mill is now sitting eggs, how many will not be known until the chicks appear in about a month. The blue tit is in and out of my camera box and now has a very nice looking nest. But worst of all the jackdaws are nesting in my chimney and thats not somewhere I like ! I called the chimney sweep who came around and removed the sealed hatch from the dining room fireplace and removed twigs. Half a wheely bin full of them ! He said as they build the twigs fall and they will keep replenishing until the whole chimney stack is full. Tomorrow he comes back to fit a chimney cowl on top. Within 5 minutes of the sweep leaving they were back with more twigs. It's important to stop them before nesting is finished and eggs appear.
