Little Venice

This is a part of London I’ve only been to once, when we had a canal cruise and a staff meal. I’ve often wondered about the place and wanted to explore.

I’m down to see the Irish play with Cillian Murphy at the Barbican this evening and I arrived late morning in the gorgeous sunshine.

I discovered the 18 bus and went for a wander. It’s charming.

They can’t decide if it was named by Robert Browning in memory of his wife or if it was a Lord Byron joke. It did, to be honest, remind me more of Gas Street Basin in Birmingham, but then that place has also been compared with Venice (we actually have more canals.)
