One for, two for...

There are, fortunately, a pair of magpies around our house these days.  So catching just one of them for a picture shouldn't be an invitation to bad luck (as in the rhyme).

In any case single  magpies  are regarded as a symbol of good fortune in China and this one today sat for ages  at the top of one of the highest trees in our garden whilst Cathleen and I - on our 39th wedding anniversary- enjoyed a cup of coffee out of doors in perfect sunshine.
