Sitting Pretty?

Poor John Robert Godley. He was one of the founders of Christchurch and the Canterbury settlement in the early 19th century. Sculptured in bronze, he now stands desolate with a humble black back gull for company in Cathedral Square staring towards the earthquake-ruined cathedral. Son Duncan and I had a busy day in the city and captured some beautiful scenes. Too many to choose from. So I chose Mr Godley to give him his day in the sun.
