Tranquil....

It took son Duncan and me a very long time to travel from Christchurch to Blenheim and home. We saw a lot of the countryside, mostly in the rain. We did a “Tiki Tour” (aka sight-seeing) and visited many places I hadn’t seen for years and Duncan has never seen. For instance we walked along paths in Christchurch’s “Red Zone”, an enormous land area stripped clean of houses and most evidence of habitation following the devastating earthquake of 11 years ago. We drove to New Brighton and lunched there. Then took a round-about route to Pegasus, a relatively new development. Finally we visited Waikuku Beach and captured this image near the mouth of the adjoining Ashley River.
