Bridleway (and a deer)

Spent several more hours preparing the walls in the living room. After finishing off the second large tub of filler, decided that enough's enough - no more filling. Just need to sort out the areas around the windows, so tomorrow I shall be messing around with decorators caulk.

Had a nice chat on the phone with H, a friend who is making the stained-glass window to go between the hall and the 'Music room'. He sent some glass samples which will look fabulous! We had hoped to have the window in place by Christmas (last Christmas, that is), but should have guessed that H works at his own pace, and it's likely to be a while yet! Ah well, better late than never.

Up to the Common with MrM just after 7.00pm for a very short walk. The car thermometer said 7deg, but it felt much colder than that in a bitter wind. Lots of gorse in flower, but it's far too cold yet for that gorgeous coconutty scent. No squirrels this evening, but three beautiful deer crossed the path just in front of us, and walked up in to the woods. Too many branches between them and us for a decent shot, but I couldn't resist posting one as an extra anyway!

Off now to watch For Folks Sake! Morris Dancing and Me on TV. Mixed comments from the Morris community, but should be interesting and will make a welcome change from that B word nonsense...
