Redshank working the edge of the lake

I decided I’d visit Old Moor this afternoon as we needed some more fat-balls for the feeders and the ones at our local Agricultural Merchants come in plastic tubs or in piddly lots of 6 in a plastic bag.  (In our garden six fat-balls will be lucky to last two or three days!). So fat-balls purchased and packed into the car I had a couple of hours walking around the reserve and the hides.  Two special birds today - a Little Ringed Plover, which was pointed out by a friendly man in the hide and which stayed around to be photographed but never really came close enough.  Then this Redshank which was busy finding food along the edge of the water and passed immediately in front of the hide window.

A visit to see Emma this morning after which our feet felt wonderful and Merv came to cut the grass.
