Enjoying the sunshine

A really lovely morning with blue skies and warm enough to go for a walk without a jacket, although I did take a waterproof just incase.
I needed somethings for Brownies from Inverness and we also had a £5 voucher for M&S so on the way we popped down to North Kessock and had a walk along the path towards Kilmuir. A lovely walk with lots of birdsong including a chiffchaff and lots of robins. A woodpecker flew off as we approached a wooded area, Herons sat preening in the fir trees with a few on the waters edge.
Pleased to get some bargain flowers from Morrisons as all their Mother day flowers were reduced to £2.75 .
We had our sandwiches at South Kessock.Still sunny but we went through a hail storm on the way home.
The Pine marten was out and about again , much more jumpy in the daylight.I have contacted SNH and the advice is to leave things as they are until the Kits leave the nest in May/ June and then we can start assessing the gaps near the windows.
We held Brownies at the beach in Rosemarkie. It was pleasant with the first group especially in the sun but sooo much colder for the later group.Parents were texting to say that it was hammering it down in Avoch ,which is just a few miles away, luckily it stayed dry and the girls enjoyed a Scavenger hunt organised by the young leaders.
We held a Promise ceremony for three girls and said farewell to two others.
One of the girls who was exploring one of the rock pools said she was pleased that we went exploring as there is so much amazing wildlife on her doorstep that she did not know about :)
