Confusing

The weather threw everything at us today- torrential rain, onslaughts of hail and intervals of sunshine, with a feel cold factor of 3°.

I was back at the coal face this morning to meet up with other new widows. I don’t know whether this is beneficial as it brings back memories that are best forgotten. However hearing other people’s stories it does reinforce my feeling that short and sharp maybe better than a long drawn out incurable illness although it doesn’t lessen the grief at the end.

At lunch time I met up with Robynn to go back down to my daughter’s flat in Porty to fold up the clean washing and stow it away. We rewarded ourselves for making the detour with two fancy buns which definitely looked better to our greedy eyes than they tasted. ‘Twas ever thus.

We made it back to the Dower House, travelling through another wintry shower in a bus with hailstones battering the roof like shrapnel, only to arrive home to a wet world sparkling in sunshine. It was all very confusing.
