Thin

It's been almost twelve months since I last blipped a Peacock, they were really thin on the ground last year. This was one of several that I saw around and about this morning: firstly on Moorside, then this one on the Butterbur next to Gill Beck, and then in the community garden and the graveyard. I also bumped into several Small Tortoiseshell, a few Comma and my first couple of Orange-tips for the year. (See summary tweet for more butterfly pics.)

The tiny Green Dock Beetle was also a highlight (extra).

Later, I went to the Bradford City match. They played much better than a fortnight ago and had a couple of efforts that grazed the woodwork  and one early one that bounced back of the inside of the post. But Doncaster defended well and scored a breakaway goal toward the end to take the three points. That's five straight defeats, four of them 0-1, leaving them six points adrift at the bottom of the table, and eight away from safety. With only five games left they really need to win all five to avoid relegation, and nobody sees that happening.
