Yellow tulip

The cold weather is keeping this tulip tightly closed for now. Presumably it senses somehow that there aren't likely to be many insects around to be worth opening up for. At least the cold will keep the daffodils going for a bit longer, and may help to adjust for the rather early start during the warm spell in March. 

This morning we bought a few vegetable seeds, so next week I'll be doing a bit of sowing to get things going for the coming season.
