Castle Tioram

Another sunny day here in the Highlands so we had a trip to Castle Tioram planned. We have been here a number of times but not for a few years.

We elected to undertake the silver walk, so named because the builders who engineered the path in the late 19th century discovered a hoard of Elizabethan coins. The path clambered up and down near Loch Moidart before heading high into the hills past frozen lochans and then finally down the route of the pipe from a dam to the shoreline. It only took us 3 and a half hours in the end! We did see otters and deer however so it was definitely worth it.
