Camouflaged

I used a wide aperture to try and isolate this old stump leaning out over the water, hidden amongst the dead reeds. I'm not sure it helped all that much.

I also darkened and softened the background in an attempt to bring out the subject further. Although it was an overcast day, the horizontal reeds reflecting the sky are very bright and seem to catch the eye most. Still, in a way one has the opportunity to explore the image further before discovering the stump and enjoying its texture.

A brisk wind forced an increase in iso to allow for a faster shutter speed and freeze the blowing reeds.
