Wallace Monument

Day 2 of our adventure in Stirling. Went to visit Stirling Castle first thing. The castle is quite amazing. Really love the freshly painted palace and the new tapestry depicting the unicorn hunt is absolutely stunning. After a short lunch break we walked to the Wallace Monument across the river. Still very grey but at least dry. This didn't stop the boys (well just #1) from complaining about the lack of sunshine. The monument is impressive. Unfortunately we couldn't go up as it is being renovated. Ah well, just got to go back. Eventually, we caught a bus back into town. Deep chilled we got on the train back to Edinburgh. We had a great weekend away and a nice start of the holidays.
