E noho ra . . . Bye Bye

to our friends who were wonderful hosts.  This morning we got a ride with the mail boat.  The other passengers were two women who were going to Punga Cove and then walking 15 k back from there to here.  Our friends let out a unit below their house to walkers on the track.  They had stayed last night after walking the 15 k from Ship Cove.  At breakfast they were bombarded with information from the children.  It has been delightful to spend the weekend with curious children.  I was floored by the seven year old asking me about my life as we walked along yesterday.
The mail boat picked up luggage at Furneaux Lodge and took it and us to Punga Cove.  The owners of the luggage will be walking the track.  A young Frenchman working at the cove accommodation ferried our luggage up the steep hill on a trailer pulled by a small tractor.  The extra is a view from halfway up the hill looking down to Punga Cove.  I may have needed to catch my breath and a photo stop is always good for that.
