Life of a bubble maker

Day out in London

Early start to get to the Apple store in Covent Garden for 9.30. Managed to arrive earlier than planned before the crowds and got my white-screened iPod changed. Couldn't manage to persuade them to do it for free as it was 6 months past the warrantee even thought it had been sat in the draw for ages before I could get to the store.

Met a friend in Costa at Covent garden and made our way over the river to the Tate modern for a bit of culture. Bit too much culture for me, as I couldn't get my head around the Big Splash exhibition. Just lots of people in the 60's & 70's pouring paint over each other and rolling around on the floor. Not sure if that counts as art.

Left there and headed over the Millennium Bridge to have lunch, a beer and a dram at the whisky society. After this we headed towards Oxford street via a few pubs and then over to Marylebone station to meet another friend off the train, again via a couple of pubs.

Headed back to Covent Garden to meet J for a drink in the Punch and Judy. In Covent Garden at the moment they have all these baubles and glitter balls in the roof and the worlds largest Lego advent calendar. While the girls went shopping the boys went to another pub for a beer. before meeting up with some old friends for a Ruby and a trip back to Black Heath.

Long day with lots of walking and beer but great fun in the rain.
