Crafty

After a leisurely breakfast, we went to the supermarket as prices are lower in Eswatini than Mozambique. Fully loaded up we decamped to this craft market for shopping, soup and coffee.

The drive back to Mozambique confirmed that the average Swazi has a lot more disposable cash than a decade ago. This is especially true in the industrial centre of Manzini, where malls and restaurants have proliferated. Economic inequality has likely increased, but overall there have definitely been numerous changes.

Eswatini, you are fantastic and see you again soon.

As we crossed the border, the Mozambican police threw their power around as normal, which was irritating. But then a young boy shouted, ‘a vida e minha!’ (life is mine), as we passed, which was delightful.
