Runnymede - First Bluebell

I had one last finally day's leave before the new leave year starts, so headed over to Runnymede for a walk and to check out the state of the bluebells in the small Cooper's Hill wood nearby.

The bluebells were just coming into bloom (they seem to flower early here) and I spotted this early example.

Curiosity caused me to continue walking through the woods and up the hill, and eventually I found myself at one of my favourite locations for a quick and moving visit, the Airforces Memorial. I pretty well had the place to myself, and from the top of the tower had wonderful view over the Thames stretch from Windsor in the west to Heathro (extras)
