Close Encounter

While sitting in the glorious sunshine, trying to get a shot of a Carpenter Bee in flight and wasting a lot of time, this male cardinal landed on the ground very close to me.  He was so close that I didn't get him completely in the frame.  

My photography is really in a slump and I can't quite figure out why.  I am, however, heading out tomorrow with my partner in crime to meet up with a well-known blipstar for a very special photography experience on Friday.  So please stay tuned and hope for good weather.
