Wednesday weekends

At the beginning of the year JD and I decided to buck the trend and ‘shift’ our weekend to Wednesdays. Choosing each week to escape the city life, and venture out midweek for a climb, run, swim, or all of the above. Today we added a new possibility, a bike ride!

In preparation for our cycle tour from Edinburgh to Barcelona in August, we’ve been on the hunt searching for suitable bikes. I bought mine last week, and so the pressure was on for JD. After trawling the second hand sites, we found it, an old Dawes Super Galaxy, that had been loved and cared for by the lovely LadyFindhorn and her husband, his lordship. After initially going to see it last week we agreed to take it out for a test ride today. We only had a few hours, so we set off from the centre of Edinburgh, travelling up the canal and followed the water of leith, with the pentlands in mind. Although we didn’t make it the whole way, we had a great time nonetheless, and the bike was a success. We can’t wait to add to the many adventures this bike has already been on.

Another great Wednesday weekend.
