The Yellow Rose of Marlborough

The Mistress popped out and caught this Rose growing on a fence on a vineyard very nearby so jumped out of the car, hopped close to the fence in her moonboot and snapped it quickly then went on her way. She thought a texture would make it a little more creatively interesting.

Roses grow all over Marlborough in the vineyards, on the fences, and at the end of the rows of vines. She tells me that eons ago they were used to gauge the health of the vines, but these days it's purely aesthetic. Good job - they do look beautiful.

She's been good and keeping her broken ankle elevated for the most of the day, interspersed with watering the lawn and garden, and doing the vacuuming, and one quick click of my shutter.
