Great Spotted Woodpecker

This morning I went for my rehabilitation assessment at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. I had to go on the exercise bike while they monitored everything  then will have to go to twice weekly gym sessions there with a programme tailored to me.

I happened to mention that Wolverhampton hospital had said that can't drive yet. They said that there's no reason why I can't as 6 weeks after the op is the usual length of time to resume.  I phoned my insurance up when I got home and will be driving from tomorrow.

After the appointment we went to Venus Pool Nature Reserve near Shrewsbury. It was lovely to see three bramblings there but they were too far away to photograph well so this is the male of a pair of Great Spotted  Woodpeckers.
