The Highlands

We decided it was a hillwalking day and headed to Sherriffmuir to go up Blairdenon by a circular route.
We parked by the Sherriffmuir Inn (closed and for sale - anyone want an historic inn?) and headed to the Wallace Stone, one of a line of prehistoric stones, then up the little valley in the extra.
Next there was a steep section through some recent forestry but the views north were excellent, I was glad I turned round to look. The next section we didn't stay high enough and had to plough through deep mossy tussocks instead of a track (well, one was marked onone map but we'd looked at the other!) until reaching a rough path. After that is was mainly paths over the top of the hill and some more and back down to the road. It got a bit chilly as there was a bitter wind and the sun went in whilst we ere high up.
Then into Dunblane for a cuppa, a wander round the cathedral and the town.
