Claife Viewing Station

We had another excellent morning’s orienteering on Hampsfell; a tricky start, an easier middle and a more tricky end to the course. If we get a better weekend of orienteering this year it will have to be really special. Afterwards we decided to go up the Marilyn of Claife Heights on the west side of Windermere before heading off to Puffin and Mr P for the night. The blip is taken at Claife viewing station, a National Trust for England, Wales and Northern Ireland property, that has a great view over Windermere. It’s a relic from Victorian times and has been enhanced with coloured Perspex. Claife Heights has no view from the top as it is surrounded by tall trees; so not really worth the walk.
Yesterday’s blip.
