Thank You For the Days ..

Back Street in Berwick

We went over to Berwick this morning to chose new specs for TM. His last pair, bought a couple of years ago, were never right, despite a couple of return visits to the optician. Let's hope this pair prove to be better. At least they are a bit different from his last pair, which were told today were the wrong shape for his prescription.

Then it was down to the Green Shop to stock up on locally roasted decaf coffee, and across the road to the veggie cafe for lunch.  They sell vinyl in there, and you can chose an LP to be played while you eat. It was Johnny Cash today, fine by us.

Berwick has a great selection of independent shops, and we like to support them .....  so I came home with a book from the secondhand bookshop and a top from the Danish design shop.

In my defence, no cake was eaten in the course of the day.  I'm saving that treat for Thursday and a scone in Edinburgh.

This is one of the alleys that connect the old harbour to the town. I'm tagging it for Derelict Sunday, though it isn't all decaying - if you look to the left, the top of the building is festooned with satellite dishes.
