Mt Blair

We went up to Glen Clova to go hillwalking with our, rather inactive mountaineering club, and stopped off of the way to bag a couple of Marilyns. The first one was Creigh Hill near Kirriemuir; it was a heathery ascent but the views were ok. However, in all directions the sporting estates were taking the opportunity to ‘improve’ the conditions for the Red Grouse by doing Muir burning before the season stops at the end of the month. Apart from the doubtful results of the practice the effect of the burning is appalling to the air quality round about and can be smelt from a long way off. The blip shows the Muir Burn on Mt Blair.

Yesterday’s blip.
