To the Manor Born

Three days of torrential rain and the Blip mojo went awol. Today dawned even worse with yellow warnings in place for even more heavy rain. However we had an invitation to stay in stay in a Castle with the Roaringwaters and some essential fieldwork to carry out - the recording of an early Christian engraved stone and some holy wells. The weather was too diabolical for that so we didn't start our journey to Ballyseede Castle in Tralee until after lunch. A hairy journey with torrents of water gushing down the mountains and at one point a small river flowing across the road in Ballyvourney.
We arrived without incident and enjoyed afternoon tea in genteel surroundings, followed by a genteel stroll around the grounds (now just drizzling) followed by a genteel supper followed by a less genteel watching Game of Thrones in our four poster bed!
