Beehives

Warmer today and still dry. I decided to paint the hen house roof, which Rob replaced this winter. Then, with some paint left I touched up the garden door and put a coat on the new gate.
That done we decided to get the apiary sorted. Rob erected a new hive stand and we wisely wore our beekeepers suits for this as they were none too keen on the hammering! Then we transferred one hive onto it, as it was in danger of toppling over. Both hives are looking good, with lots of bees and brood already. We put ‘supers’ on ready for some Spring Honey. Hopefully!
And the first Willow Warbler of the year arrived in the garden today!
