Life through the lens...

Linton Falls

What a difference a year makes.
https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2428617379069035023  This was the photo I took on the 5th April last year.
Just couldn't believe how little water there was in the river today, especially after the flood warnings we had a few weeks ago.

We did the same walk from Linton Falls. Across the river and up through Grassington. Then over the moors and down to Coniston.
The walk back was by the river, and through Grass Woods.

The sunshine was hazy, but the temperature reach 20C. The first time I have worn my sunhat this year, and we were soon down to TShirts.
Lovely to here the curlews, and see them flying overhead.
We also stood and watched the sand martins swooping over the water, catching flies, and then taking them back to their nests, hollowed out on the river bank.
Mr C saw a goosander, but I missed it. Taking photos of some flowers at the time.

I made a collage of some of the wild flowers  we saw in the woods. See extra.
Also another collage of the walk. Including part of our group with Kilnsey Cragg in the distance.  Not very clear as it was very hazy.
A very smart  cockerel which came to see us as we got back to the car.
A little lamb on a rock calling for it's mother, which seemed to be on the other side of the river, and some sheep and lambs having a good feed.
( May be the ones Lovelupins blipped a few days ago.)

Such a joy to be out in the Yorkshire Dales on a glorious day, with friends.
