Getting to the Point

A wonderful day out with Tim, visiting two contrasting gardens.  First to see a friend.  Rosie has an informal plantsman's garden, stuffed with interesting plants both common and rare, with many naturalised plantings including swathes of Snakeshead Fritillaries. (extra pic)

We moved on to The Old Vicarage at East Ruston, a flambuoyant, sometimes formal but always exciting garden of many rooms.  One highlight - of many - was the Desert Garden, a startling array of the succulent and the spiny.  Difficult to convey the sheer scale of these plants, no need to bend down to picture them.  These were three to four feet high and across, others towered over us.  Quite remarkable.   A garden I would recommend most highly if you are in the area.  Four hours  well spent!
