These are a few of the food utensils brought, along with prayer shawls, family jewellery and other possessions, to Oświęcim* from elsewhere in Europe by people who believed they were going to work their way to freedom.

*or, as renamed by the Nazis, Auschwitz.


Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
