A waterfall of lichen

Not sure if there is a "official" collective name for lichen............... but this qualifies as a waterfall of lichen.

Spotted this on one of the trees at the gym.

I have walked past the tree, a thousand times (probably literally, not just figuratively, it's right near the door), the lichen has always been there, but today, it's REALLY there.

Blipped it on the way into STEP.
