A New Day

Grand Day Out

Thank you to everyone who left such kind messages of support regarding my MiL, but she is still defying medical knowledge and hanging in there:-)

To give ourselves a break from the worry of it all, we went out for a drive this afternoon, hoping that the heavy mist would burn off in the warm sunshine.  It did, but not until we were coming home about 6 pm!   It was a real struggle to get a decent photo but the scenery was stunning.

We started off with lunch at Broadslap Farm near Dunning, then drove to Crieff and Comrie, through massive fields of "yellow peril" (oilseed rape!) with a break for TJ at a garden centre we like.  Then on to Loch Earn and a drive along its whole length to Lochearnhead.  We continued to Killin and the Falls of Dochart (see Extra), but the slabs were literally crawling with tourists so we didn't stop.

We then followed Loch Tay along its whole length passing Ben Lawers, one of the highest Munros in Scotland.  This photo was taken just before that and shows there is still snow on the tops in spite of a ground temperature of 21 degrees:-)  On through Aberfeldy and down to Dunkeld, where we stopped for fish and chips in the small restaurant attached to the chip shop, before heading for home.  TJ will sleep well tonight!
